Meet Eva, Our April Student of the Month!

Congratulations to this month’s Student of the Month, Eva! Eva was nominated by her instructor Sam Kim for her consistent practice, great preparation, and passion for playing and singing!

We talked to Eva and her parents about how she got interested in music, her love for singing, her hobbies, and more! Check out some interview highlights below, and be sure to watch our full video interview for more from Eva and her parents!

What got you interested in piano and music?

Music has been a big part of me. My favorite kind of music is pop. Jojo Siwa is the one that introduced me to pop. I heard one of her songs, “Kid in a Candy Store.” I was like “I’m a kid and I like candy, so this song is perfect for me!”

What was it like getting started with StrumClub?

When my dad first introduced me to StrumClub, I didn’t feel good about online classes. I was really surprised because I feel really awesome about lessons now!

I WAS REALLY SURPRISED BECAUSE I FEEL REALLY AWESOME ABOUT LESSONS NOW!

Tell us about taking lessons with your instructor, Sam.

Mr. Sam is very kind and generous. He always explains things as many times as I need and he’s very patient. He goes through everything with me so I can be better! The lessons are fun and help me relax.

You sang and played “Part of Your World” from The Little Mermaid during your recital. Tell us about that experience!

I had to dress up and practice like a dozen times! I wanted to play The Little Mermaid because I really like Disney and Ariel. She’s one of my favorite princesses. I’ve been singing since I was a young age and I really like it, so in almost every song I play I sing too. It felt really good to play. It was worth it!

What other hobbies do you have?

I like to do art and dance. For art I like to do cartoons and anime. When I dance I like to dance to pop music! It expresses a big part of me and I like to just feel the beat.

What are your goals with music?

Music is fun and even though it takes a lot of effort it’s still worth it. I want to keep playing music. So I will keep practicing so I can become a pianist one day when I grow up!
